A survey at booking.com placed Myrtle Beach, SC as one of the best places to try local food in the US. Myrtle Beach is in good company sitting beside New York City, Las Vegas, and New Orleans. 

The research and subsequent data was surveyed from 56,000 global travelers from an online survey in October 2017.

A CNBC write-up describing the Myrtle Beach food scene says "Visitors can find an array of seafood restaurants with just-caught fish and fresh-shucked oysters. Seek out raw bars (like Rockefellers), barbeque joints (like Carolina Roadhouse with its famous "fall-off-the-bone" ribs, pancake houses and casual spots (like Peaches Corner, a family-owned diner that opened in 1937, the year before Myrtle Beach was actually incorporated as a city.)"
