According to the National Association of Realtors, summer is definitely the busiest season for real estate.

"Throughout the second quarter of the year, existing home sales continue to increase with an average month-over-month growth rate of 10% each month until June.  As a result, the four heaviest home-selling months May, June, July, and August account for 40% of an average year’s total home-selling volume." Prices are on average a little bit higher during May and June, but there’s a much-much bigger variety of homes on the market. Would you rather choose between two ice cream flavors or thirty-one?


2. School is Out

Sellers with kids are going to be more motivated to close the deal before the summer ends. Plus if you have kids yourself, it’s much easier to plan a week to scout out neighborhoods and potential homes in the area you’re moving to. Also, it may make the move easier for your kids if they get to take part in the showings and house hunt and share the excitement of looking for a new house with their parents. 4. End of Summer Discounts

As the summer starts to wrap up and kids are getting ready to go back to school, the average housing prices begin to drop. Families want to get their home sold and relocated before the school year starts - for obvious reasons and the winter isn’t a great time to sell your home due to the lack of buyers. This is a great time for a good deal, especially if you're a cash buyer!
